Look out for the iconic King Alfred statue and you’re almost here. Beside it, you’ll find the entrance to the park — and just beyond, our distinctive pillared terrace standing proudly within the gardens.

Parking at Abbey Mill
Abbey Mill is located in Winchester city centre and does not have on-site parking. However, there are several affordable and convenient parking options within easy walking distance.
Below are our recommended parking options for members and visitors.
Best Value Option – Park & Ride
Winchester’s Park & Ride sites offer the most affordable all-day parking, with frequent buses into the city centre.
East Winchester Park & Ride
Approx. 10–12 minute bus journey into the city, then a 5 minute walk to Abbey Mill.South Winchester Park & Ride
Approx. 10–15 minute bus journey into the city, then a 5 minute walk to Abbey Mill.
👉 Ideal for full-day working, regular visits, and commuters.
City Centre Car Parks (Walkable)
These car parks are within walking distance of Abbey Mill:
Colebrook Street Car Park – 1 minute walk (closest)
Middle Brook Street Car Park – approx. 5 minute walk
St Peter’s Car Park – approx. 6–7 minute walk
Chesil Street Multi-Storey – approx. 8–10 minute walk
Jewry Street Car Park – approx. 10–12 minute walk
👉 Best for shorter stays or when you want to park close by.
Other Parking Options
JustPark / private spaces – There are occasionally private driveway spaces available nearby via parking apps.
On-street parking – Limited and often time-restricted, so not recommended for longer stays.
Our recommendation:
For regular or full-day visits, Park & Ride is usually the easiest and most cost-effective option.
For short visits, Colebrook Street or Middle Brook Street car parks are the most convenient.
